Yeah we were dead is very fun, but it still a far cry from any of their pre-good news stuff

I assumed based on those singles they were gearing up for a new album releaae and then 'rona happened and they decided to push it back again until they could tour for it

WWD is pretty good but a far cry from their earlier work — that said, Spitting Venom rivals any of their best work.

Tbh I like most of the singles off We Were Dead more than anything off Good News but the deep cuts are mostly pretty mediocre imo

Like March into the Sea, Dashboard, Sensory, Missed the Boat and We've Got Everything could have been a 10/10 EP

edit the sad parts is so goddamn amazing wtf where was this shit in my life. legit like a top 3 early mm cut

need to find a home for it in the tracklist (or on building something out of nothing). obv cutting dog paddle for it but idk if dropping a 7 minute mammoth like that right in the middle of the tracklist is the play (that said wouldnt really be too out of place for old mm)

fr i fucked up during my peak mm kick in high school by barely venturing outside of the full lengths. a huge chunk of their best material is there, between edit the sad parts, night on the sun, and fuckin all of building something out of nothing

I was lucky enough to have a cousin that absolutely loved this band and picked up every obscure single and EP he could find. Everywhere and his nasty parlor tricks is still my favorite release of theirs for nostalgic reasons.

yeah edit sad parts definitely top 5 mm. In general I like their longer songs best, teeth like, stars are projectors, spitting venom etc.

Yeah most of their long songs are absolute gems. LCW alone has enough "epic" type songs to put other bands' whole discographies to shame

like I can appreciate the almost not subpar attempt at Pavement songwriting mixed with faux-Pixies vocals but it just doesn’t sound good to listen to in this format and it’s an overlong slog. I think their next albums have potential though might still check one

Pavement songwriting? Really? And I mean sure Isaac does have his Frank Black influenced moments but faux-Pixies is pretty unfair lol.
