Silence has a great build-up. It's kind of like how the beginning of a post-rock song isn't necessarily "interesting," but as it gains momentum it becomes more and more engaging.

Yeah, they really ended it on a high note. Best closer of the year IMO.

Saw them in DC last night. Great show, even if Tigers Jaw was a meh opener. Setlist (roughly, may be missing a few):

The Maze

The Gold

The Moth

Shake It Out

Pensacola

I've Got Friends

Pale Black Eye

The Alien

The Sunshine

The Grocery

Simple Math

Colly Strings

Cope

(Encore)

I Can Feel a Hot One

The Silence

So happy they did the Alien-Grocery run. And yes both of the encore songs were amazing.

I'd be infuriated if I saw them live and they didn't play Lead, SD. How do you skip the best track from the new album?

They didn't, The Grocery is right there.

I'm fine without Lead, SD but I kinda hoped I'd hear Virgin.

Yeah Lead SD brings the prototypical millennial woops a little too hard for me to really love it. I get down hard to it regardless, but tbh it barely cracks my top 5 or 6 tracks on here.

Sowing I was also disappointed to not hear Lead SD when they came through Dallas. Was kinda hoping they'd play the entire album because The Wolf would kill live, but oh well. That setlist is exactly what they did in Dallas, and it was still outstanding

I usually have no idea what Im talking about. Things I say are best taken with a heaping tablespoon of salt.

I absolutely love the contrast between The Alien & The Sunshine being put one after another. Great album, really enjoying it.

The lead into The Grocery from The Sunshine wins me over every time.

like i said earlier, the three song run from the alien to the grocery is the best thing this band has done, or ever will do.

this grew, admittedly. still think tracks like The Alien/Parts/Mistake are p boring but I def appreciate their restraint a lot more.
