read a recent interview and it sounds like theyre moving away from the album format for a bit, and after hearing the ep thats probably for the better. it also sounds like theyre not a fan of this album : (

yeah i mean i already didnt really vibe with those songs lol. i like kennys part on afterimage but hearing him get interrupted by marcus screaming is maybe the most ive ever wanted him to shut the fuck up lmao

i can tell the point of this release is to take the electronic experimentation of this and mixing it with their heavy stuff but the points where they try and fuse both together are so sloppy and sound terrible imo

Yeah weird they “don’t like this album” when their new stuff sounds the same stylistically

Never understood when younger bands say they're not fans of their own albums. It's not like they have this 10+ album discography spread out over decades with all these "eras" and shit

there is literally not a single band that can be trusted when assessing the value of their own work

This band has a knack for dropping music where you think "meh" initially but they slowly work into your brain

but alien and obsidian made me think "damn this is actually interesting unlike 99% of core" the first time i heard them

and mirror's edge doesn't

because mirror's edge is stupid squandered potential

Woof these guys and Putney production go together like oil and water. Did not enjoy the new EP at all besides Afterimage and Dante.

Who knows it'll probably grow on me like this did lol

putney is a production terrorist most of the time. he has some good work (radical, some of the FFAA records) but so much he touches turns to fart and poo

To me he does extremely well with the brutally heavy stuff. Like END, FFAA, KL, etc

But anything that requires more nuance is poor lol
