"Wretchedcacophony i appreciate the point you made about TBDM, aside from the fretless bass this album is indistinguishable from some of TBDM’s work imo. Is it tasty? Hell yeah! Is it interesting? Not even a little bit"

Ahh I wouldn't go that far. There is plenty of intrigue here, particularly in the first half of Grinding Wheels and the closer.

This album is probably immediate for most, but I think I need to listen to this multiple times to really grasp it

This is one of the best albums in the genre. Full stop. My jaw was on the floor throughout the whole first listen. Musicianship, production, creativity, concept and lyrics are god-tier.

I'll be slapping a 5 on this with a few more listens.

Side note: This is the most dense 39 minute album I've ever heard

Just listened to Sun Eater. Really good but this is better. By quite a bit imo.

I would absolutely love to get an instrumental version of this album. The vocals sound great, but they are the weakest link here.

Nah, Jonny goes hard as fuck and the album wouldn't be the same without him.

i don't think i'd like this anywhere near as much w/ no vox, or even if the vox style was different. i love that there's more than just typical dm grunt fare

I love his weird highs so much. Dude has such a unique style that fits the technicality here like a glove.

Right!? Like, I don't have time for this ultra comeback shit, I need to be able to write bands off so I can keep it moving lol

Spinning this again right after Sun Eater. Damn yo. So so good.

Crazy to think it's been 10 years since Sun Eater was released.

Maybe I'm looking at this with nostalgia glasses because Sun Eater is the album that convinced me to learn bass but this is a fantastic listen.

This, Whitechapel's The Valley, and Born of Osiris' The Discovery are the mount rushmore of mediocre deathcore acts completely turning things around
