Is the band name not a reference to “Debaser”?

thought it was just for the edge cred (one of the best names of its kinda tbh, so fair play) - don't get any of that Chien Andalou arthouse energy from the rest of this band - they produce their albums like action movies and listen to deafheaven

Band name rules, agreed.

The title track here is crazy good. Gonna have to give this album a full listen.

Saw them when they supported Boris and the crowd was not into it, it probably didn't help that their sound and EQ were fucked, absolutely zero bass for 90% of their set.

Chatted to them at the merch stand after the show, they seemed nice and I hope to see them properly soon.

^ glad they seem like nice people. Boris and Pupil Slicer feels like an interesting combo. Not one I’d expect, but would be cool

I like the title track on its own well enough though I can't help but wonder what it's doing as the closer, Dim Morning Light felt like such a better way to wrap it up

I'd be down for a PP Slicer Powerpuff Girls Trilogy

post-metalcore is actually my term btw i was using it in 2013 to describe albums like sempiternal that were phc/mc hybrids

This mix is fucked but in the Danza-esque intentionally awful way to amplify the chaos. For a mathcore band, I'll allow it. Can't say I'm loving the tonality of the clean vocals but the unhinged energy of this is nice. I could see them opening for Callous Daoboys in 3 years.

this band could open for the Daoboys whenever lol, not sure that pedestal politics are there

"using it in 2013 to describe albums like sempiternal that were phc/mc hybrids"

right, so you managed to use it incorrectly before it had even been invented
