Very based and interesting and well-written review this one! I'm liking what's offered (kinda like Beyonce's last record), but yeah I totally get where you're coming from. I just like club jams!

This is pretty solid, didn't think I'd be jamming and enjoying skrillex in 2023 lol

i just cant take this guy seriously because he doesn't feel genuine. everything he has done feels like chasing trends. he has no identity. no artistic spirit. this is plastic music.

that "drop" on tears is one of the worst plucked synth sounds ive ever heard. who in the studio thought that sounded good? the vocal samples on all songs are annoying, repetitive and mixed too high. they ruin otherwise decent beats.

Rumble is dope.

bells felt really ahead of the curve at the time it was released. there were even moments in heroine that felt forward thinking notable "waves goodbye".

i think the last thing you could accuse skrillex of (whether you like him or not) is chasing trends or not having an identity, when he has spawned thousands of clones aping whatever change in sound he goes for and (for at least the first half of the 2010s anyway) literally set the trends every garbage 'edm' producer jumped on anyway. like the 'brostep' scene was already somewhat of a scene when he came up with artists like rusko and excision, but no one sounded like skrillex at that time, he really pushed the envelope for that scene. similarly as one half of jack u his success in that project led to the wave of exceptionally mediocre 'future bass' producers in the latter half of the previous decade.

Deviant ruined Noisia for me

You’d think that the favourite artist of someone who postures as the Jesus of electronic music would be next level but when I finally peeped them they were earth-shatteringly mid
