tbh anyone saying this is “random” or “wanky” just isn’t listening hard enough.

"yeah, probably wasn't me you were referring to (?), but I did mention it in the Art Brain thread, I think. It is certainly right up there in the AOTY stakes for me."

Pretty sure it was you. Artificial Brain thread is definitely where I saw it now that my memory has been jogged. Forgot I'd jammed the album already but man revisiting it yesterday was nice. Definitely a contender

Album flow in general is really impressive, especially the last three songs. The way they reintroduce riffs is really satisfying, like look out for how the band use the opening riff to Dehiscent throughout the song. It’s very labyrinthine songwriting while still introducing some musical motifs to prevent from getting lost. This is incredibly organic songwriting, ESPECIALLY for dm

Yeah, I was about to burst in here waxing lyrical about Dehiscent and that in particular, great execution. The closer is phenomenally satisfying too.

my buddy worked on both of those albums actually, I think he did the full mix for the sentient horror release. just mastering for ripped to shreds.

he’s one of the best metal engineers out there right now imo.

^ yeah, Ripped to Shreds is a great example of a band-name being eye-roll inducingly generic, yet it has exceeded all expectations so far. Pretty impressed.

Cheers guys

Gud boy demon, for once

Glad we all digging Ripped to Shreds. Being a deathgrind release its impressive how memorable and dynamic it is. They even managed to put a 10 minute track with a doom finale a la Hooded Menace. Also the solos are super cool!

Anyways, for me not comparable, besides both equaly satisfying in different ways eheh
