At the end of the day, Death Spells is an album I've listened to dozens upon dozens of times and I don't think I'll be saying the same about this one. Still a really good album though. Sightless and True Loss are easily the highlights for me.

post-shoegaze is a bullshit label that doesn't refer to a movement or collection of like-minded artists at all; just a lazy way of compressing this combining gaze stylings with post-rock/metal songwriting tendencies. if anything, i think the songwriting is much more gaze than Death Spells so there you go, it's a heavy shoegaze album"
