Could never get into them myself, however, Be'lakor rips for sure. One of the best melodeath bands still churning out quality albums

>Idk for me Ne Ob are just frustrating. They have some of the most beautiful, inspired moments, but the clean vocals, bloating and breaks that throw away momentum sadden me. I find myself being bored one minute and amazed at them the next.
Well said, I completely agree.

Clean vocals rarely sound good in melodic death, whispers like here are cool but straight up vocals more often than not cheapen the product greatly

Got waylaid by the new Mastodon record. Finally jamming this now!

My rating for this has slowly creeped up. Every Be'lakor album takes me time to really appreciate but I adore that progression.

Indeed. This one has taken a while to open up for me; will hit it with a rating soon.

yeah, as much as I love The Frail Tide it doesn't really come that close to this and neither does Of Breath and Bone
|

Album Rating: 4.5
Frail Tide and Of Breath are things I return to every now and then, and enjoy thoroughly, but for me, they just aren't as masterfully crafted, nor have the more consistent replay value as this and Vessels.
