yeah this has so much more to it. so many acoustic, melodic, almost Southern rock-ish elements, it's fucking brilliant in every way and I even like the little bits of deathcore sprinkled in because it's connected perfectly. this is my AOTY and might even be my favorite album I've heard all decade.

I hardly consider this album deathcore. Its more progressive metal with some death/doom undertones.

I think Whitechapel is becoming a bit of a Deftones predicament for me, love Deftones softer songs but the heavier songs I always found to be quite bland. It's a similar thing here, the heavier parts on here arent bad, but I much prefer the softer parts as a whole.

Sincerity is everything lol. But to be honest, I learned to appreciate their earlier material, specially the self-titled and This Is Exile. I just appreciate their evolution to something more personal and heartfelt.

ok somehow the harsh vocals here lost some of their cookie monster energy compared to their previous album. reminds me of eluveitie harshs quite a bit which is good.

urgh cleans are still the same slimy ultra pristine stuff .
might be able to cope with them though, instrumentally this is pretty great so far.
