steely dan is one of the greatest bands in musical history
and yeah the interludes are cringe beyond comprehension on this record, so corny, so trite, and the album is long enough even if you remove that absolute garbage, no idea why they are even present.

yh bet
have not heard a single second of this or read anything outside of this thread
but gonna confidently posit that it's this yr's Sawayama and that anyone who has anything non-hyperbolic to say about it is hacking up bullshite and that anyone who calls cringe on it should be on the no-fly list

This normally isn’t my kind of thing but the rym / sput rating has gotten me real curious about it.

fell asleep halfway through this (out of sleepiness not lack of interest), but i had this nagging feeling that although these songs are pretty great, or better, in a lotta ways, her voice doesn't suit the orchestral approach as much as it did the palette on Grey Area (possibly an actual point) and also that i don't find her lyrical style consistently engaging in an Epic context (possible a me/falling asleep issue)
looking forward to making it to the end hmm, hope i come out feeling it's more than good-not-great

fear no man is my fave after this first spin
i can see how people would be all over this, and i can see how the interludes might grate on people, for me it ebbed a bit in the middle section but probably it will grow on me

album could've been a few tracks shorter and the interludes feel dated and superfluous, but this is stellar stuff. production is god-tier
