my opinion of Hospice might be tainted by the fact that I showed it to this girl in middle school and she became obsessed with it and started saying a bunch of really cringy shit about how she feels like Sylvia sometimes and what not, and I was like shut up we're literally 12

but also I think it has sort of lackluster song structures a lot of the time and the sadness/theme of it kinda compensates for that

I don't think this is better than Hospice but at this point in my life I like this better

It's sort of like acknowledging that filet mignon is objectively better than pizza, but sometimes you just want pizza y'know?

extremely based story

This basically cements The Antlers as one of my favourite bands. I definitely agree that it's not as creative or sonically impressive as burst apart or familiars but it's just an extremely chill album - perfect for the warmer weather we've been having

@Gyro it's the best Antlers IMO. Don't expect something as glossy and lush as their modern works, but it's their best full band effort, the atmosphere is really breathtaking and ethereal, and it's something like 27 minutes long so you can listen to it pretty much anytime/anywhere.

First couple of listens and this did seem like 'superior indie background music' a bit - not a bad thing
