The difference between T Swift and other mainstream artists is other mainstream artists eventually change their lyrical subject matter. T Swift just seems perpetually heartbroken. And I'm curious if she'll still be whining when she's in her 40s and 50s

HAIM's not that bad but I'd rather listen to worse bands cause they're more interesting

@jouro that seems like a bit of an odd complaint given that most super mainstream artists don't have big dramatic changes to their lyrical style and the lyrics on this and Folklore are a lot better than Reputation

“T swizzle plays watered-down guitar and piano chords and local neo indie kids cream all over that shit”

What is a watered down chord

Nice review even if I disagree with some of it and generally enjoy the album more than you. I do, however, think you're spot on with the Bon Iver feature - possibly the worst aspect of the album for me. (The National track, on the other hand, is *muah*)

"A strong message to be sure, but one that ends up as an unflattering synecdoche of the album as a whole."

Also the word 'synecdoche' already has everything following it in this sentence kind of baked into its definition. Not an egregious error but I felt compelled to point out at least one mistake because that 2.9 has me sour :^)

(jk love you)

It's an alright album, I just feel like folklore actually had more substance and variety. I definitely became bored by this album with a few songs sticking out like willow and the title track.
