I get the complaints with the singing but Brian crushes it in whatever he does so it's all good with me

I feel like he nails it most of the time here. He has had some awkward melodies on all of their stuff but as far as cleans go I think this was overall his best performance.

What I bring it back to is the EP. In Despair and Forever Marked are my two favourite tunes of theirs and they were mainly focused on being heavy. That EP had the balance perfect. His clean vocals aren't good enough to pull off an album weighed so heavily on the melodic side. Or rather, he can pull it off but it doesn't do them justice.

I like his clean vocals but as others have mentioned, his melodies can be a bit off lol

Why has no one talked about how great second skin is?

Probably because it was a single and feels like old news compared to the rest of the album. It's a good track though, grew on me a lot and the chorus is one of their best.

The singing gives off knockoff Rise Against vibes to me. They aren't bad but aren't strong enough to be be relied on as much as they are imo.

Albums fine, nothing really stands out and theres no major flaws. Pretty run of the mill.

Lol I swear I've seen that same complaint in like every metalcore album on sput. Don't like the singing on Polaris, on Currents, on IA.

Is there anything else even coming out this year? I'll take a new Greyhaven but idk if it's gonna be this year.

I read somewhere that Vein may be in fall-ish, if that’s true then I’m set for metalcore releases this year

A Flag To Wave is still my fav on here. Mentioned in the review but l fucking love the chorus.

''I'M DYING TO KNOWWWWWW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE UNAFRAID TO DROWNNNNNNN I'M DYING TO KNOWWWWW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO LIVE A LIFE WITHOUT THE FEAR OF BEING SHUT DOWN''

I must've replayed that part a dozen times.

well nearly all metalcore singing is typically average to below average unless you're Dayseeker lol.

I loved Invent Animate's album. For albums on the way... You can't forget Every Time I Die!

Which is why I'm not big on them, his voice can only carry for so long before I get bored with the rest.
