I'm sure we'll find out in 2023 when they release their fourth album.

I feel like this album was a huge step backward. I wasn't much of a fan of Gnosis but The Amanuensis blew me away. I was very impressed with Baretto especially. Pretty much everything I loved about The Amanuensis is gone on this one. Baretto's cleans sound weak and uninteresting, screams are all flat sounding with little diversity, the riffs are pretty generic, not nearly as creative and unique sounding and most of the lyrics are awful. But hey, maybe it'll grow on me a bit?

Listen to it as a source of fun, instead of as a source of impressive musicianship (like The Amenuensis), and it will likely grow on you.

It's hard not to feel a little disappointed by this album but the more I listen to it the more it grows on me. I think it will remain a solid 3.5

I'm trying to get into this band but I just can't, at least not as much as I want to. Amanuensis was very forgettable for me, it sounds like every other djent-metalcore band out there, albeit with pretty good vocals. Phronesis is a step up IMO, even if it still sounds kinda stale.
Maybe the reason this isn't better to me is because I've shifted my preferences towards more melodic progressive rock. That's probably why I find the latest Vola album to be so phenomenal, while this remains only mildly interesting.

7 years later and I'm still wondering what Monuments would be like with Neema and Greg, fml

the record kind of reminds me of Dead by April cause of the poppy moments and awkward, edgy lyricism

Pretttty much. Or just more Fellsilent.
I'm more or less on the same page as Cookie on this one. I still like the album for what it is, but it feels like a big step back.

The 2 last tracks on this really grew on me.
The album has so much potential, it's enjoyable but I really wanted this to be better

Its not the Amanuensis, but after track 2 I'm all the way in. Vanta and Stygian are great.

Hollow King might be the best song off the album, it's by far the song that most resembles their last album

After listening to this a dozen times or so it’s starting to grow on me. It’s some pretty solid stuff, just a bit more generic sounding than I was expecting.

Yeah, it grows for sure. I think people forget how bland Gnosis was. Really, the only thing here that feels like a heavy step down are some of the lyrics. But Chris is still an incredible vocalist.

Okay it's even worse on second listen. It's just so bland and the production really doesn't help
