There’s still a lot of overlap in our ratings - I just don’t have the required nostalgia for emo, pop punk, Coldplay or Snow Patrolly stuff. I have plenty of awful stuff I am nostalgic for like grunge, The Prodigy, etc., just ask SandwichBubble. I was born too early to like this type of thing all that much.

Some stuff close to this I do like - that Foreign Fields EP and the first Half Moon Sun. This year’s S.Carey isn’t a million miles from this, the Ry X I liked. This is just too wishy washy I guess.

butt.

This is pretty pleasant listening, it gets a bit samey though. Love the guitar interlude Civility at Gunpoint

Three songs in and loving the lyrics here, rarely ever do I even pay attention to them on a first listen

Glad to be on board < 3

This is falling off a bit for me towards the end but we'll see how it holds up by the time I give it the ol' 3-listen-rating

Agreed. And I feel like this isn't a niche dig (like Pram for instance) - this has wide appeal. I wouldn't be surprised if it makes some year end lists. I know it will be on mine.

That old school classic guitar feel driven by the nostalgic leads and melodies s carey reps... yup. Good mix. This is great.

Man the title track is so so good

Might have entered a 3-way tie with Burger Hill and Jewels as my favorite

Right now, 2018 looks like this:

1) Ben Howard - Noonday Dream (5.0)

2) The Republic of Wolves - Shrine (4.7)

3) Florence and the Machine - High as Hope (4.7)

4) Shakey Graves - Can't Wake Up (4.5)

5) Haley Heynerickx - I Need to Start a Garden (4.5)

6) Kacey Musgraves - Golden Hour (4.5)

Trying to figure out where this fits in, it's possibly as high as #4 but at least in my top 7 so far.

Damn Sowing, I still haven’t found anything I’d put above a 4.3.

I have at least one 5 every year this decade except 2012 (2013 is in the lead with four), hopefully this year doesn’t ruin the streak...
