I'm starting to think I might rate the Eleanor Friedberger a little bit higher than this...will be a shocker if this dips to a 3.5 for me - it needs to keep drawing me back and I'm not 100% sure it will.

It’s amazing, ultra dry synth pop/dream pop suits her to a tee imo
It has two songs easily better than any song on this in the bookends - the closer flat out beats Beach House at their own game
She probably would have dropped my AOTY if she kept her new style over the entire album, the more ‘classic pop’/Fleetwood Mac’ish numbers are good but not world beaters
