My friend introduced me to, and beat them into my head, until it was imprinted into my brain to listen to them again on my own.

Pretty sure this is the only active prog metalcore band that I still care about. I feel like I've pretty much outgrown the genre at this point, but the guys in this band are such good songwriters, that it's not about the genre as much as it is that they just make good-ass music, and have a clear passion for what they're doing.
