I'd say it's usually used as agree/disagree and not indicative of writing quality.

Yep. Plus staff don't base promotion decisions on pos and negs

Bio is the best of her last 5, although I need to hear this some more to pass judgement properly

on first listen i was pretty disappointed in this, but there are some really good tracks in the latter half of the album (sue me / claimstaker / saint) that took a few listens to click. it is way too long overall though, and the sequence of body memory and features creatures threatens to sink the whole album before momentum picks back up.

overall i'd put it about on par with biophilia and definitely in the weakest 3 of her albums.

I am in track 9 and struggling to finish. This is unfathomable. Aside from the opener, not enjoying this at all.

I have to come to terms with the fact that she is not gonna make another Homogenic. Fuck it.

she doesn't seem to be making much of an effort here. long, wandering tracks with very little in the way of structure or evolution. definitely going to put in more lessons but yeesh

Yeah this (to me) is more about the overall headspace.

It's that Vespertine-esque minmalist aesthetic; that cold, seemingly detached yet so inherently human emotional pull. Unlike her last album Bjork doesn't seem to be feigning emotion this time.

Yeah I don’t understand the idea that she was feigning emotion on Vulnicura, didn’t come across that way to me. Black Lake is fast becoming one of my favourite Bjork songs.

Recently learned that she says 'my heart is enormous lake / black with potion' instead of 'black with pollution' - my version makes more sense but ok Bjork whatever
