I don't particularly enjoy the more Going Grey-esque production, but the songs on Ann are pretty great minus Tie Die Dragon which is okay (I'm aware the rest are all old). It sounds like they have their passion again with these. Definitely better than this at the very least.

I think this production works super well for Somebody Else. It's so marvellously big.

Silence inbetween the songs catches everyone off guard / If it's a little too much to bear right now, you can look forward to showing off the scars

as much as I enjoy this album at its highest moments, songs like peace sign, vacation town, and the new/INSUFFICIENTASHELL version of tommy, really show the line tfb was perfectly riding on the past 2 albums that fell right between well done, angsty indie rock, and straight up squeaky clean pop, while simultaneously crossing it FAR towards the latter. WAY too squeaky clean, a bit too often

I’d agree with Blush

and don’t forget about “Raining”. One of their best tracks

don't even hate the song but it sounds, in the bigger scope of previous front bottoms songs, quite disneychannel-esque

Damn, I respect that opinion 100 per cent. For whatever reason, though, I straight up disliked Back On Top; and while I like Talon a lot, it's always struck me as a less good s/t. I think this is the change-up the band needed. I honestly agree about the Disney Channel-esque thing; I love it all the more for it, though.

thanks for the bump, reminded me to listen to this again, forgot how great it is. disneychannel-esque is a fitting description of some moments here, but yeah, I don't mind the surgery sweet exterior personally, its endearing

i ummm, do not know how to feel about the new one.

it's pretty big but also pretty obnoxious

definitely a more interesting record than this one. a lot of parts I really liked and a lot of parts I questionably liked
