Most Deathcore bands decided to go Djent (or at least decided to play the same shitty riffs with more strings) but they aren't exactly great musicians so it tended to sound pretty bad.
These guys have stayed in that middle-ground of breakdowns and edgy scene lyrics with some obvious DM riffage.
One complaint though, the drumming seems to be getting tamer as time goes on. Hate had some ridiculous drumming whereas this seems a little more restrained.

They are legit hardcore dudes but they play what I would call melodic death metal. Heavily inspired by 90’s Gothenburg
