thank you for reassuring my opinion on this Johnny, you're a good sport

your opinion on this seems pretty unassuring if you claim to be unimpressed by it yet seem to be impressed by it, js
and nice edit ; ]

This is pretty much a low 3.5/high 3, and even then I don't see a 3.5 rating as "impressed"

fair, the numbers are arbitrary. was just confused as to exactly what you thought

I was pleasantly surprised after flat out hating You Got Spirit Kid ("Mr who gives a shit just shut up" being the lowest lyrical point of the band's career) and feeling sick to my stomach listening to Here To Mars. Then I Heard Island and completely fell in love with it.
I only really dig Island and Atlas, they're the two songs on this I feel sit nicely with the rest of their discog. The rest is like a sunnier YOTBR, that album suits being listened to in the rain where as this one begs to be spun first thing in the morning.
It's a fun listen but doesn't hold up against the flat out bombast of GA1 or the structurally interesting IKS, it's just kind of fine.

don't know why people hate Here to Mars, I thought it was a good song.

I was really anticipating being let down by this CD but I actually enjoy it quite a bit. Even the singles that I wasn't impressed by seem to be better within the whole of the album. Thank you for never letting me down Coheed.

Wow how did I not notice Atlas the first time through? I may need to bump my rating up.

I think my rating for this will drop. Only songs I really like are Island, Eraser, Colors, Ghost, and Atlas.
You Got Spirit, Kid is fun when in the mood, and Peace to the Mountain might grow on me, but the rest feels weak.
Anyone else hear the two bonus demo tracks "Fangs of the Fox" and "Bridge and Tunnel"?

I think that's only on the limited edition, as far as I know they haven't streamed yet.

Still trying to decide what I want to keep this as. The Audience has a cool groove and bounce to it, when the "time ticks forward..."/chorus-y part kicks in.
