Gyro: "not on sputnik where everyone is extremely biased" dude you're the one refusing to accept there is a concept and aesthetic involved in this because it contradicts your conservative christian beliefs on eating cake

i've heard the album and i enjoy the music, although the lyrics are predictably awful. i know what miley cyrus's aesthetic is, i was lampooning it for being a poor representation

Her image is basically similar to Lady Gaga's anyway, instead of Kermit head dresses and meat dresses for shock value, she swings from wrecking balls and makes cake look like cum on her face all of the sake of weird self expression. I guess it's easier to appreciate from an artistic standpoint rather than a musical one, so maybe she's just more of a performance artist than anything else who happens to sing heh

Not sure about most of the album, but I heard "Dooo It!" and hated since the lyrics sounded like those stoners who think they figured out the universe just becaue they smoke. I also heard "Don't Be Sad Karen" and it was a pretty respectable ballad actually. Not checking out any other songs though honestly since I'm kind of bored of this fad now, especially since I really don't like Wayne Coyne at all.

Kind of fun discussing pop culture though, so here I am uh...

Ars: I don't think her image is similar to Lady Gaga's in any way. Lady Gaga was more interested in shock value, while Miley is more about being free and being herself or whatever, and Lady Gaga is more concerned about fashion while Miley is more about freedom and the teenage angst of the 2000s/2010s

What I personally like about "Dooo It!" -- and what differentiates it from other 'stoners' -- is that it's so simple in wording. She's just like "yeah I love peace" and "yeah I smoke weed"; it's like she's stripped down all the pretenses and said what needed to be said.

I'm pretty positive that Gaga's message was about self expression and being yourself too though, maybe not the angst part though...

She did say that a lot in interviews but I don't feel it in her fashion. And when she did state it in her music, it felt forced and blunt imo

This reads like a review of Miley Cyrus and not a review of the album. You say exactly what you want to say in one of the last paragraphs but the rest of it just feels like fluff. It's almost as if you're trying to justify the creation of this album rather than just reviewing it for what it is: a bloated and lack luster affair. We don't need the context especially if you're going to give it such a mediocre score.

I discussed a lot about the concept since that's usually the first and most important thing I notice in any album, and 2.5 is not a mediocre score tho

But I understand, I did state that I have a problem with being concise so, noted.
