Didn't think Dustin could sound so boring without Thrice backing him up :/

Loving this. It's such a pleasant listen to just throw on while doing other things. Then again I always loved the Aslower Thrice songs the most so this is in the vein of those

Just saw him play an acoustic show with Andy Hull, and the dude from O'brother in Philly. It was fantastic despite the fact that he only played one thrice song :'(

I really fucking adore this.
Saw him with Tim Vantol in Cardiff earlier this month. Was sick - got three Thrice tunes in, and he's the most chilled dude ever.
Bring on Thrice in August.

'Carry the Fire' is the 4th solo LP from former Thrice front-man Dustin Kensrue. The singer-songwriter doesn't offer anything too complex here, with a Springsteen / Gaslight Anthem influence being apparent. It's subtly diverse and contains a nice mix of electric & acoustic instrumentation behind Kensrue's relatable lyrics & signature vocals. Containing no filler, consistency is both the album's strength & weakness, with no home run hit here either. Ultimately, this is a pleasant listen... Some may find it too pleasant. Recommended Tracks: Back to Back, Gallows, Of Crows and Crowns & In the Darkness.

Not so keen on his solo stuff... although I saw some videos where he was covering jesus christ, round here, and hide and seek. He nailed them all, goddamn this mans voice is good.
