I fucking love this album. I've only heard it twice, but probably a 3.5 -- I might have to review this for the American release date.

Wow... I don't think anyone expected that. You're gonna have to reconfigure your 1st half of 2015 list now Trey. Move aside Paradise Lost! ;-)

I like it, but it's not getting past Paradise Lost. ;)

I have a soft spot for some of it. It's good gym music.

Haha, it would be good gym music.

While I can't name bands off the top of my head, I keep coming across a whole bunch of German synthcore & metalcore bands of late. What is going on over there?

I have no idea. Apparently synthcore is going to be the new power metal for the german masses.

Did Enter Shikari start the trend? That 'Sorry, you're not a winner" song still gets stuck in my head & I haven't heard it for ages!

Enter Shikari have been around since 2003 and their very old stuff could be described as proto synthcore if you wanted to make up such a ridiculous label

They were definetely one of the main bands to popularise the style (sorry your not a winner and mothership were both big hits over here in the uk in the core scene immediately) with their eps and debut lp getting a lot of attention

Defo one of the first bands to do the style aswell. Whether they were the actual first, i dont know. I think theyre the best band in the genre tho, TTTS is amazing

I'll have to check them out. I know I listened to the album they just recently released, but it was kind of in the background (I think).

I'm gonna start putting proto on the front of every genre. LOL.

Trey, my guess is that you have heard it, but if you haven't, get ready for it to be etched in your mind forever! Great/apt video too:

I didn't grow up with Elmo, but Doogie Howser can dance with whoever the hell he wants.
