some people do, some people don't, they're one of those bands.

I didn't totally get on with this first try either. There were a few standout moments but some tracks that just refused to click (I think I gave it a 3.5). Give it 2 or 3 more listens before you totally dismiss it - if you're lucky, it all comes together perfectly :]

Started as an easy 4.5, but it can grow even after 10 listens.

MY FUNNY VALENTINE is an epic, euphoric, and ecstatic piece of music. I'm glad that I checked this one out.
5th listen, I'm starting to getting the vibe and the vocal of this album. Can't give it higher than this for now.

The three words you used are perfectly fitting, Aberf. What are your other favourites?

In this album? I like Angelfish, JUPITER, and Sakura for now, consecutively. I like the vocal on those songs. Other than those, I'm still trying to get it. Some of them still are still sounded awkward in my ear.
For my favourites in general, you can check my latest list I guess.

My fav is easily Sakura, but I also really like Speed and My Funny Valentine. Regardless they're all fantastic

My first was 13kai and I recommend that thoroughly. Failing that, I love Yume Miru Uchuu :]

Those two and Darker than Darkness.

Another vote for Darker than Darkness. I'll contradict the guys here by saying it took me a full few months to get into the theatricality of 13-kai wa Gekkou (though now I agree it is a great album), but Kurutta Taiyou and the three following albums (Darker than Darkness, Six/Nine and COSMOS) were instant love. Still amazed that they could produce four albums like that in succession.

To all my opinion on the wagon 13kai is beyond essential. Despite it seen as being in their 'big 3', I'd leave Darker until your 5th album or something since it's surprisingly inaccessible minus Dress. Yume and One Life/Cosmos are the best to go after 13kai, have fun :]
