The thing is that this band isn't bad, but they aren't incredible either. They somehow found their way into a little niche of kids who like shitty posthardcore and normally don't listen to much other than shit full of breakdowns. So, those kids hear this band (which still has some breakdowns) and they're like "OMG what is this amazingly creative and inspired music?! This band must be the best and most original band evarrrr!!!" Basically they got popular for being a slighty better-than-average posthardcore band that pulls a lot of influences from superior bands that most kids have never heard of.
