I dont know, I think SS pretty much just sucks. Mixing is way off, songs are bland and Vortex is a terrible vocalist. It's average I guess but when you compare it to their other 3 albums, yeah, I still say suck.

I guess it really wasn't a disappointment for me since it was the album that introduced me Arcturus. Although I don't think I've listened to it since I got this one.

It is. I can listen to this pretty much whenever. The combination of piano and double bass paired with Garm's best vocal performance is worthy of a 5 itself, let alone all the other amazing stuff going on.

I'm contemplating giving this a 5. I haven't heard anything quite like this but the music is amazing. Garm is top notch, Ihsahn is brilliant, and the piano work with the double bass is solid. Glad I checked this out.
