I prefer his vocals on Don't Break The Oath, even though that had shittier production

Someone asked about their other albums:

into the unknown: "the uninvited guest" and "ghost of change" are awesome an on par with their classics, the rest ranges from good (title track) to awful (fifteen men)

Dead Again: quite doomy and slow, not very catchy but with a nice strange atmosphere.

Nine: Only one song I really liked: Kiss The Demon (nice groove and acoustic part). Quite fast-paced album, but all a little too normal in my opinion.

As far as the music the whole melissa thing is pretty cool it kind of like a satanic judas priest with guitar harmonies including some dark atmospheric/conceptual type of stuff.Although i think the vocals can be a little annoying at times and satan's fall is little too long but their are some cool changes there.Other than that the curse of the pharoahs is probably my favorite on this record.

Slightly weaker than Don't Break the Oath, but DBtO is like the second best traditional metal album of the 80's. This album absolutely owns though and still remains one of traditional metal's finest albums.

And King Diamond's vocals are perfect.

I can't see it... DBtO is good, but the song writing is nowhere near as strong. The first 3 songs on Melissa are near perfection - Into the Coven is up there with the best metal songs of all time IMO. DBtO just isn't as memorable.

Extreme influential to the Thrash and let's say...Black Metal scene in the early 80's. All songs are classic here but my favourites are Evil, Curse of the Pharaohs, Into the Coven and Black Funeral.

An absolute classic
