This album is unique and moderately entertaining, and its antics are somewhat respectable, but I can't rate this higher because it feels kind of silly...like, the silly lyrics, the carefree intention of being insane/eclectic, the awkward variety of instrumentation, and the cutesy metal growls. So I understand why people would 1 this. I hear some talent; it's just slightly pretentious and all over the place. And it's not really psychedelic.
But the 1.5 review of BTBAM's Colors is just an awful review. Even though I don't like Ayn Rand much either. Just a poor, unfunny, illogical review.

And As the Roots Undo...I think people hate it because they dive in expecting poor vocals and pretentious lyrics and so they hear poor vocals and pretentious lyrics. Or they're not big on grandiose or emotionally charged music. I expected emotional vocals (it's emo after all, and I happen to like emotion) and so I got emotional vocals. And I like the lyrics; they paint a pretty picture, even if they do not always make sense.
But I digress; I shouldn't be talking about that album here.

If you turn around every comparison you made in this point, you'd be right.

I just thought the album was poorly written and flat out sucked. Kind of like this.

I like the whole "grandeur" about it, but it's really forgettable outside of that, and CTTS don't know shit about songwriting.

Not really. They hit a few good moments, I'll give 'em that, but they ruin it about every five seconds with some really bad techno break or that god awful indie bit.

I don't think people in the 1800's were as angry about him having sex with a young adult because that was the "in-thing" back then, but I'm pretty sure the travesty of said young adult being a fellow male was what put a stick up that old Brit who sent him away's arse.

I think he's a fucking genius, one of my favorite quotes comes from The Picture of Dorian Gray: "Out of the unreal shadows of the night comes back the real life that we had known. We have to resume it where we had left off, and there steals over us a terrible sense of the necessity for the continuance of energy in the same wearisome round of stereotyped habits, or a wild longing, it may be, that our eyelids might open some morning upon a world that had been refashioned anew in the darkness for our pleasure, a world in which things would have fresh shapes and colors, and be changed, or have other secrets, a world in which the past would have little or no place, or survive, at any rate, in no conscious form of obligation or regret, the remembrance even of joy having its bitterness, and the memories of pleasure their pain."
