Ahem
I only argue if I'm sure I know what I'm talking about.
And this has what to do with politicians?

Portnoy is without a doubt one of the best but you're right it's really hard to pick a favorite.

Love, love, love this album. Everything that is good about Dream Theater can be found here.
Really like your reviewing style dude.

Great review, although you guys are nuts for not liking Another Day. Extremely powerful song.

Another day is cool. Just weaker than the rest.

Thanks Hans, freek.
Another Day is good, even though it's cheesy it still has an uplifting quality and the saxophone is darn cool. It's still the weakest thing here though, in fact I find the first 3 songs to be the weakest.

This album is pretty much perfect as is Scenes From A Memeory IMO, i'll look forward to reading your review of that album!

"I can see why some would put that as (one of) their best achievement(s) but Awake is easily more comparable to IaW in sound and quality than any of their others, just a tad more heavy in its approach. In other words, it's among DT's very best actually."
Yeah I agree bud. LaBrie was at the height of his career, and needless to say Moore was a far better keyboardist for DT than Rudess. The atmosphere and songwriting in awake far surpassed SFAM..It was less about techincal wizardry and more focused on writing actual songs. In general I prefer Dream Theater's attitude to music in the pre-Rudess days. (I should point out that I still love SFAM regardless.)
I even loved WDADU, but its too bad LaBrie was not yet in the band.
Oh yeah, very good review again.
