Forget how enjoyable this album is. It's interesting, with these guys I enjoy everything they've ever done but the punk fan in me can't help but feel like there's potential wasted by never truly reaching for the level of aggression present on the pre-A Types stuff.

They improved on every single level (including the clean vocals) on No Wings to Speak Of but this still bangs. From Your Hands riffs for days, specially the bridge.

I probably would put this over A Types if I was forced to choose, ehhh, idk...

I wouldn't say it that, tbh. It's a bit rough on the edges for me and if it wasn't for A Types (or Satellite Years for that matter) I'm not sure I would ever have interest in this. This took the longest time to grow on me and I think they hadn't dominated the spacey/heavy dichotomy yet. While both records sound like a product of their times in terms of production (ironically, since both are polar opposites in terms of approach) I think A Types is a much mature record. "The Ones" alone trumps anything here, even though this has the better drum and bass work overall. Vocals improved tenfold on A Types as well.

Over-analyzation finished.

How in the world this band went through so many members and genres but every album is a 5 is just absolutely ridiculous and shouldn’t be possible.
