Just when I thought that the avg in Serenades and Silent Enigma are terrible. I came here and see this. You sicken me. You are killin' me.

2.8 is wayyy too low for this. This is a really solid and innovative death metal album

Also whats with the cover art. What is that supposed to be? A nazi robot giving a hitler salute with a target on his arm?

2.8 is wayyy too low for this. [2]
I honestly like this album more than Gothic (which doesn't do much outside of a few tracks), it does a better job at sounding evil and sinister, and death metal-wise it slaps harder. Breeding Fear also has already a glimpse of the operatic female vocals for that "beauty and the beast" thing

Yeah I really don't get the average for that. Sure it's far from perfect, but I mean damn it came out in 1990 and has such a unique atmosphere compared to everything else at that time. I might actually bump my rating

I don't want to hate on Gothic, I just think the consensus for this one is unfair. This is their lowest rated full-length on RYM and it has barely a 3... come on now

I love this album. I don’t get the hate, actually yes I do. This is an album that requires deep thought and appreciation for. I love how distinct and dark and atmospheric this album is. It sounds like a band creating their own style instead of trying to copy any others. This album will always be special to me because I was just so intrigued from the very moment I saw it. The dark and eerie artwork, the nightmarish soundscapes and the bizarre guitar tone and song structure just all together make the whole package really hit home for me and carved out a special little place in my heart. I like his the guitar riffs in each song have a memorable melody that worms their way into your brain if you notice them through the layers and layers of dark matter.
