If those sissies listened to this they'd burst into flames. This isn't pansy symphonic purple-covered fairy dancing tra-la-la-la-la metal. This Message Edited On 08.11.08

So I just came back from some cd/ vinyl shopping. I found this for 5$ used at Speed City Records in London, ON. I can't even find this online! I hope this is decent seeing as I've never heard a single song by them before hahahaha. Trust in Coke's word!
Hahahahah now that I've done a bit more research, you can find some samples on Last.fm hahaha. This Message Edited On 09.18.08

That comment is pretty damn accurate with Hawks and i'm pretty sure this was before his entrance. Album rules of course, and I deleted my rating, suave.

You guys act like I only listen to symphonic black metal. I listen to all types including all that raw shit so I could definitely handle this.

Relax, i'm just grinding your gears. Get this though.

IIIII WILL LAUGH AT THE DEATH OF YOUR CHILDREN
IIIII WILL LAUGH AT THE DEATH OF YOUR GOD

received this in the mail at work just now, along with The Atavism of Evil and Havohej's Dethrone the Son of God. great stuff
incidentally, any fan of this kind of raw, primeval, atavistic black metal -as opposed to the aforementioned purple fairy synth chants type- should immediately listen to Negative Plane's Et in Saecula Saeculorum. much closer to Mercyful Fate and Celtic Frost than it is to any of that ultramelodic nonsense. pure, uncompromising, hateful, demonic grit. easily in the top ten BM albums to be released in the last five(if not ten) years

Was that a laugh at me Coke?
Album kind of bores me a bit. I'm guessing I will never ever understand what makes raw black metal like this so appealing. Kind of reminds me of old Darkthrone, but I've never really been a huge fan of them either. I need more (to quote istaros) purple fairy synth hahaha.

i was just paraphrasing Cocaine :p i'd still suggest the Negative Plane album to you, even if you don't usually like raw stuff. i'm quite amazed at how good it is in an across-the-board way. as for the more melodic bent, if you're getting tired of groups like Emperor and Moonspell(and their countless Norwegian/Swedish clones), start looking into the Eastern European scene. Poccolus, Obtest, Trollech, Zpoan Vtenz, Graveland, Skyforger, and Nokturnal Mortum are all really melodic but in a way that makes them instantly recognizable as different from the Norwegian scene

Moonspell? I wouldn't put them under BM but whatever. I will never get tired of Emperor though. They seem to put way more passion and emotion behind their music then all this raw BM stuff. Thanks for the rec though. I will be checking out some of those other Eastern European bands. I've heard Graveland and Nokturnal Mortum and I enjoyed them quite a bit.
Maybe this album may grow in time, who knows? I've given it a fair shot and has really done nothing for me.
