Wow. This album is a masterpiece.
You can tell how much work they put into it. After 5 years.. they made their best album since Kid A.

Am I being an asshole when I say that this can't really get relevant reviews until the other 8 tracks are released (i.e. the physical "album" comes out)?
|
| |
No.. but this is the real album. When the physical copy comes out.. it will be this. All of the bonus tracks will likely be a part of a deluxe version or something.
In Rainbows consists of ten amazing songs.
Videotape almost made me cry.

Really? It was my understanding that the CD release would be a double album no matter what, but if you are right my previous comment should be erased from everyone's memory.

On the subject of this being Thom-driven, I've hardly listened to him. I think the instrumentals, while not as complex and intricate as previous albums, are very good.

The 2nd CD is a B-side album...this is In Rainbows, the 10 tracks.

You repeat yourself way too much.
You have way too many run-on sentences.
You have poor use of commas.
You have your nose way too far up the "Radiohead are Gods" asshole.
It was an ok review at best. Again, the repetition within the first few paragraphs made me feel like I was re-reading a paragraph accidentally. Just because an album came out today does not mean that you should rush out a review to be the first one to get it done. I personally think any album that gets reviewed should be listened to (in its entirety in ONE sitting) at LEAST 4 or 5 times over a period of a couple days (for a new release such as this). For older albums, over a few weeks/months will give your mind better time to analyze each track as you hear it each time.

I am about halfway through it right now.

Not bad by far.
Just needs more listens.

Stupid review, it hasn't even been out a day yet.
I disagree with a lot of what you wrote too. This album is nowhere near as challenging as Kid A or Amnesiac, but it's a lot better than Hail to the Theif IMO.
At the moment, having listened to it a good 6 times or so, I can say I really like the atmosphere of the album. Nude was my favourite even before the album was released, but this album has a lot of quality tracks on it, and you can just let the whole thing play because of the general atmosphere.
I'm just letting it all wash over me before I'd even consider writing a damn review.

So far the drums have been the highlight for me (only listened to the first three, I wanted to give it more of a chance today). Thom's vocals are as expected. I'm loving it so far.
Will we get more In Rainbows reviews than 10,000 Days? It's a possibility.
I hope so. 10,000 days was a dissapointment with filler and pretension. In Rainbows is 10,000 days' bane.

Didn't read the review. Probably not going to either. I'll just wait for Tyler's.

So far after listening to it a few times, it's very good, but lacks the killer track that every Radiohead album has, like Street Spirit is to the Bends or Pyramid Song is to Amnesiac.
It's just lacking the knockout tracks that make most Radiohead albums a classic. This Message Edited On 10.10.07
