The writer of this is clearly biased.. already stating from the get-go that they are not a big fan of the Foo Fighters..

I personally hated the review..

For one they mentioned '90's alternative pop a bad thing.. when pretty much everything that came out of the '90's was amazing.

2, How can anyone not enjoy Foo Fighters? For one to state that Foo Fighters have always been mediocre is completely trite. Dave Grohl is one of the most talented (if not the most) musicians in the modern era of music. The new album may not be that good (I have very low expectations).. but Dave Grohl is a musical god. The first two albums are alternative classics, even if the rest haven't been as good as those..

For you to make a statement like that, leads me to believe that the scope of your musical knowledge is minimal.
I personally hated the review..
You hated it because you didn't agree with it... it was well written and he backed up his points just fine.

I can honestly say I don't know anyone that doesn't like the Foo Fighters.

How can you say Dave Grohl is not talented? That's a complete mockery of your music taste. He has the ability to play guitar, drums, piano and pretty much every other instrument part of a rock band. He wrote the entire first record by himself, playing every instrument and writing all of the lyrics.

Dave Grohl considered a hero when it comes to music..

To say this questions my music taste is from far beyond my understandings..

The last few albums have been sub-par, but Dave Grohl nonetheless is an amazing musician. Listen to Everlong.

Aside from Radiohead and Joan of Arc, Foo Fighters still remain one of my favorite bands despite the latest efforts.

Awful album.....I can't understand why though. Maybe its because they make the same album over and over again. This Message Edited On 09.18.07

Hello himslashher, for now you can just call me Willie... nice to meet you; and now you know someone who doesn't like the Foo Fighters... Let me introduce you to the_wizard... now you know two people who don't.

I've always wanted to like the Foo's but there more of a singles band to me...they have a few good songs on each album but for the most part it is generic rock...it's so weird. He's a great singer, and the band is talented but Grohl writes so many uncatchy rock songs...it boggles the mind someone can go from great songs like Best Of You, Everlong, Next Year, etc. to something with almost no melody...I mean the songs were Kurt was randomly screaming (Tourette's) were catchier than some of the Foo's songs.

Nah. Grohl's a pretty awesome drummer and a pretty great songwriter. His playing owned QOTSA's Songs For The Deaf and Killing Joke's s/t, and he wrote/played all the music for Probot. I think they're one of the better rock bands of the modern era and this album is a bit better than a 2.5 - I'm more along a 3-3.5 range.

He's an amazing drummer.. up there in the top 10. Songs For The Deaf is made so much better just because of Grohl being on there.

Grohl was the most talented person in Nirvana. Kurt shouldn't have gotten as much credit.

I think the Foo Fighters formula for music has run its course.

For one they mentioned '90's alternative pop a bad thing.. when pretty much everything that came out of the '90's was amazing.

Um. No. Does anyone remember Barbie Girl by Aqua? Statement false.
The first two albums are alternative classics, even if the rest haven't been as good as those..

Two very good albums does not automatically make every other attempt above average. As you even say in the following...
The last few albums have been sub-par, but Dave Grohl nonetheless is an amazing musician. Listen to Everlong.

Yes, Dave Grohl is a pretty cool guy. And Everlong is one of the more memorable songs out there. Still, this has nothing to do with this record... FOUR albums after the fact.
The writer of this is clearly biased.. already stating from the get-go that they are not a big fan of the Foo Fighters..

As I said before, if this review upsets you THIS much, write your own. But if you do, don't be surprised if people neg you for coming off overly biased yourself as you have 'from the get-go' made sure to let us know that you are a big fan of the Foo Fighters.
Seriously.

Nothing from any decade is perfect..
but the entire '90's alternative scene is what I grew up in.

I'm not going to lie.. Barbie Girl wasn't that bad of a pop song.

I listened to the stream online and I must say that even though I am a pretty big Foo Fighters fan, I did not like the album very much.

Barbie Girl was sweet?! what?! Have you not listened to the lyrics? they're fucking evil!

Anyway, although Everlong is one of the finest rock songs ever written, that says nothing about Dave Ghorl as a musician, it says Dave Grohl as a songwriter, and, comparing this to virtually every other song on that album and since (apart from 'Hero') really, he got very, very lucky.

Single deserves 2 thumbs up.

First 2/3 of album are kickass, but then it gets kind of boring. Between 3.5 and 4.

I'm a fan and will listen for myself. I never follow negative reviews; they can't speak for me. Positive reviews SOMETIMES get my interest.

Not a big fan of the new Foo's single. Hawkins' drumming is soooooooo bland, copied and pasted from many a previous Foo's tune
