"I might actually enjoy this more than Loveless"

I'm not sure I've heard Soulvaki or not yet, but I've heard their previous album and it was brilliant.

I think it must have been a kind of tragedy for music at the time that the critics slobbered all over Loveless. I wish they had chosen this group instead who not only have atmosphere they also have melody. Just like the best of ambient music can have a deep underlying melody so can this group. Loveless sounds like trash compared to this group. They should certainly not be compared to My Bloody Valentine as it might put some people off from hearing them.

It's funny how you aren't allowed to criticise some things here. Even though I like some of this group's work I couldn't care less if some people hate it. I wouldn't get butthurt like all the fanboys do at Sputnik.

calling someone a troll for preferring slowdive is dumb, but if the roles of MBV and slowdive were

reversed and this album had been singled out for more acclaim, starry would give it a 1.5 in an

attempt to appear unswayed by popular convention

your continued inability to formulate an opinion without referencing music critics is bordering on

retardation

No you are completely wrong. For example I like Kid A by Radiohead and that is very popular. Last year I liked Age of Adz and that was quite popular.

And anyway I don't know this particular album so well. I was posting here as people were making the comparison to MBV and this thread actually has some posts in. Their Just For Day album is a better comparison to Loveless. Both were released in 1991, Just For The Day appears actually to have been released 3 months earlier. I wonder if MBV got the idea of a blurred bright image on the cover from Slowdive? Anyway if both are considered 'shoegaze' then I know which I prefer as an example of the genre.

I really like most of the stuff on this, but listening to the whole thing i find it hard to keep interest, just cause of the pace of it.
