yeah nah try again
to do ...and nothing right after what they established on i can hear the heart is p cool. sonic opposites.
i mean a yo la tengo album is a yo la tengo album but they are really, REALLY crafty songwriters imo. The stuff from the past few years aint worth much imo but fakebook thru ...and nothing is a sick stretch

tbh the three albums after this might be better than this
some people think ...and nothing began the decline but i think their deaf. album is subtle, way more subtle than the YLT that came before it, but easily some of the best indie pop ever written

I feel like a lot of artists with big discogs get rapped on for "making the same album over and over again" but I feel like in a lot of cases there are enough spins in the songwriting to keep it worthwhile

"craftiest thing about this band I heard was their use of noise elements I dunno"
I mean you can be crafty without doing musically interesting/unconventional things

lol ira kaplan is a geniusss man
as a guitar player hes one of the craftiest in the genre imo
idk maybe youll be like the rest and not dig and nothing as much but give that one a whirl, more than once. its seriously brilliant. great melodies and pace to it its def one of my faves ever

painful, heart beating as one, electropura and nothing turned itself inside out.. the rest is varying levels of elevator music and mumbled noise.. but those four are all killer..

literally describes this band haha. except for me they really have fallen off over the last decade but wtf do you want theyve been writing songs since like 1984

I’ve been digging into Electr-o-pura, which surprisingly doesn’t have a review here, this week and I just had to stop by in this thread and say that “Pablo and Andrea” off that album is an incredible song. Nostalgia condensed into 4 minutes of pure bliss. That song beats anything on this and all of that album is great though overall it’s not quite as good as this most likely.

I was just about to say that you should do it, Boney.. I've got a ten-review series coming up.. besides, if there's anyone on the site who will find the right words, it's you..

I don’t know that I’d be quite qualified, having only heard this, that, and the newest one...but if I find a minute I might be able to pull something together
