I can't stand that kling-klang beat stuff he does all the time. It's worsened when it's simply repeated without having some sort of chord progression over it.

I really love a few tracks on here and it's a good listen as a whole, but it's completely missing that deep emotional connection that his later stuff is so incredible at creating.
Yeah, but also people should know that none of the tracks on here were specifically recorded to be on an LP. Bevan sent Kode9 something like 40 tracks over the course of a few years; they dropped 'Distant Lights', got the reaction so Kode9 handpicked the tracklist for this album. Everything on Untrue was designed to be a part of that album; 'Archangel' will be the first track and so on.....
There's an unmistakable oppressive atmosphere on both albums, but Untrue unfolds like a story, because it is. It's also a reaction; this is just a great set of tracks

only on my second listen but it doesn't hit me like Untrue or the Kindred EP does. for me there's a big gulf between those two, and this + Street Halo.
but maybe I need to listen more.

Parts of this that I initially wasn't crazy about are REALLY starting to grow on me. Specifically, I wasn't crazy about Spaceape for the longest time but after giving some of the Kode9 stuff with him more listens I've really come to dig his MCing, and I actually think the track on here is so awesomely dark and one of the highlights.
Definitely don't think I'll ever put this on the same level as Untrue because it works more as a collection of cool dark dubstep tracks where Untrue seems to have that overall transcendent vibe, but I definitely underrated this for a long while.

Broken Home has really clicked with me recently.

I'll never like this as much as Untrue or Kindred but I really enjoy the experimentation between tracks, even if it does mean the album doesn't work well as a single unit

Y'all are mad this is his best (so far), though i will admit that Untrue's finest moments (Ghost Hardware, Shell of Light, In McDonalds) pip the consistency on this

Some of his percussion reminds me of someone constantly sharpening some Ginsu steak knives in the background. Not saying that's a bad thing either...

Looking forward to the new EP. It will be interesting to see his progression or if he decides to flip the script and go in a new direction.
