You forgot Aiden and Atreyu. And Kevin Federline.

and hawthorne heights. hell that list could go on forever.

i don't get why everyone seems to hate "halo"... for me, its in the top 3 on the album, easily, and one of the best melodic metal songs i've heard in a while. maybe its just that im a sucker for good harmonies, and it's full of them (vocal AND guitar)...

just bought it today.

It is something different than other machine head stuff which is good.

I like the album a lot.

I respect your views though

I just bought it also. Huh. It sounds pretty damn amazing, but Clenching The Fists Of Dissent does drag a bit...

SOH,

Clenching the Fists is a good song, I just found that 'fight, fight, fight' chant to be a little gay. But it makes up for it with some other fantastic riffs.

Album is not quite a classic IMO.

But seriously, this album is nowhere near as godawful as some people make it out to be.

Slanderous for one is insane in the riff department. Aside from a couple of dodgy moments, the album is incredibly solid throughout and has warranted many plays on my computer already.

You wrote a great review, but I could not disagree more. This album is almost a classic to me.

Not the masterpiece I was expecting, but then I hear it being compared to Master of Puppets all the time, and I could never quite get into that either. I appreciate the skill of the musicians, they seem to be achieving exactly what they want to achieve.. it's just a little too.. old.. for me. Sure, lots of people want a "new" Metallica to come along and rescue them from all the modern metal bands they despise so dearly, but if it's like Metallica it's not really new, is it?This Message Edited On 04.10.07

This album is amazing. I don't know why the reviewer gave it a 1.5. I don't know why you said they didn't progress because its soooo much better than Through Ashes... I just can't say how much I enjoy this album.

Your review was well written BUT I couldn't possibly read a more disagreeable one. To be frankly, this review almost brought out the Fanboy in me. This has to be one of the best albums I've ever heard. The only good examples of overrated I've heard in the recent past are Blood Mountain (awesome album but not best of the decade) The Crusade (ditto) and The Black Parade (speaks for its self).

Nothing on this album comes even close to unlistenable. The only thing that IS unlistenable is when you hear the click on the MP3 player or CD player telling you that the album has finished.

I feel sorry for anybody that reads this review then instantly decideds not to check this album out. I'd never heard any Machine Head before this (besides As Days Turn From Blue To Grey) and frankly I';m glad I listened to the hype. Hype is virtually never right but for every Trivium, MCR, Lostprophets and Panic! it ball licks, it finds a Machine Head. Yeah I still think this a well written review, if a little too negatively biasedThis Message Edited On 04.17.07This Message Edited On 04.17.07

Hey this review is like the album. Initially you hate it and you give some silly off the cuff opinion without thinking, then after thinking about it, you begin to see it makes sense. Kind of

This guy (Mike)has rated very few albums with low qualification, but curiously these few bands that he rated low, the majority are not in his favorite bands and Machine Head is not one of them, really curious!!. I wonder if it is really objetive in his critiques? check his reviews and verify it. thanks to god real "EXPERT" critics exist and Mike is not one of them.

Worst album of 2007 so far.

If it weren't for the terrible vocals, this might be a 2.5.
