This sounds like the music Mr. Krabs was jamming when Spongebob thought he was a robot. Love it.

It’s magical how “Fold4,Wrap5” plays with the tempo, always makes me feel I’m in the gray zone between dreams and reality.

No way any non-Amber / Tri Repetae is this worthy
Weird historic rating (even if it was higher once)

Well, it may be worth reassessing. When it was released it didn't click with me much, Amber/Tri Repetae obscured my mind. However, I took it for a walk few years ago and got enlightened.

give me a few more years and I’ll be able to 2 Autechre’s entire discog at this rate
Less appealing with time, bizarrely. I think once the intriguing allure of ‘what am I listening to?’ wears off, there are significant diminishing returns for much of their material

You mean their unpredictability became predictable over the years? Still, the hidden textures that only reveal themselves after multiple listens is where the treasure is. I’m re-exploring Confield atm, and man, I’ve been missing out on a lot there.

Yeah, I mean in theory much of their material should improve with time but I just don’t seem to vibe with them to the same extent
Their earlier material is still fairly palatable at least
