“Newark Wilder” is so amazing, love the guitar sound so much, such a creepy/haunting vibe.

Haven't jammed this in ages. I've been on a major alt/indie kick lately. Fugazi, Husker Du, Replacements, Sonic Youth, Pavement. Fucking gold.

Fugazi are my 'band of the week' this week - listened to all their albums back to back yesterday - incredible stuff, takes me straight back to 1997-2001 sort of time

Fugazi are one of those bands I know I should check one of these days (hence the meme) but they've never been particularly high on my list.

Boney I would start with 13 songs and then Repeater. Those are by far their most accessible.

Not sure they'd be your thing 100% - still an important one to check eventually, if just for the guitar work in their stuff from 'Kill Taker' on.

Important like Sonic Youth are - you may not love them but you still have to put in the hours.

Or the Argument - opening 3-4 on that are pretty easy to get into, and there's a lot more going on that on their early work. Doof's comment [2], also don't start with Kill Taker; that one's awesome but a rough swallow

The Argument is fairly accessible as well.

'Kill Taker' was actually my first :D

'Red Med' is prob my favourite if asked at gunpoint

I guess most people start with 'Repeater'...but Boney is less punk and more Indie so prob 'Red Med' or 'The Argument' me thinks.

My guess is Boney's fave would also be Red Medicine, that's my instinct, it has some experimental tunes and instrumentals and the focus in the Slint'ish guitar work.

Ok there, Mr. rock n roll battery acid ;] Guess the rest must have felt like an easy listen after...

Red Med is a great choice of favourite, I need to jam that one again...although also I never wrapped their discog, so time for End Hits methinks

The Argument is definitely the best Fugazi album to start with imo

Yeah Doof, Sonic Youth for example are definitely higher on my priority list (though still relatively low). I might just give The Argument a listen though, I do often see that one listed high in "best indie albums" lists.

Dont give up on Fugazi until you hear 13 Songs. 10 of those are major jams.

The vocals will be a deal breaker...but at least there are different singers and instrumentals (sometimes)

I'd go Red Medicine but ok, The Argument is the most atmospheric and maybe agreeable. It might be a tiny bit more boring though :/

Sonic Youth is hard to do a discog plow. I know because I did it yesterday. I had always known Daydream Nation and Goo, but I didn't jam the others until recently. They have alot of shit songs, tbh, but the good ones are amazing.

The Argument is their final album from the 2000s. Don't get into Fugazi through the Argument.

I mean I imagine Boney enjoying listening to Fugazi and I picture 'Forensic Scene', 'Combination Lock', 'Fell Destroyed', 'By You', 'Version', 'Target' and 'Long Distance Runner'

But maybe 'Life and Limb', 'The Kill', 'Strangelight' and 'Nightshop' is an ok substitute

I'm with Ghandi - my vote would strongly go with 'Red Medicine' as it feels a lot more vital and at their peak. 'The Argument' is like the sigh of achievement after the main event

But if you're only gonna hear one Fugazi, it should probs the Argument ;]

Conclusion: hear more than one Fugazi alb

And lol so true re. SY shit tracks, but their style is one of those that sweeps the throwaways under the carpet pretty easily + and their run from Bad Moon to Goo is an all-time great

'The Argument' is prob 5th best Fugazi though after 13 songs, repeater, kill taker and red med. I thought this was established?
