Yeah but 2 and a half hours is really pushing it for an intro to a band. I'll try though

I would suggest at LEAST starting at Act IV... but really get to know it, then try to hop on the Act V hypetrain

Better than 4 by quite a bit, but these new Dear Hunter outings just haven't been cutting it for me. Sounds too carnival or too Disney. I miss the first 3

heard the two singles. never heard this band before. seemed kinda lame and boring. theatrical and slightly complex compositions are what people have said is this bands attraction but do they ever actually sound good though with enjoyable songwriting? going off the two singles for a band like this probably won't work but they seem to be boring as fuck

there is so much variety to this band that listening to two songs really gives you no idea at all how their other songs are going to sound. also, i think the two singles are in the bottom half of the rankings on this album for me.

The singles on here are the best parts of this album, imo, but in order to get the full experience you need to listen from beginning to end (all the acts albums are that way; Migrant and Color Spectrum are exceptions. But I'd check the first 3 acts out. They're better, imo

Act 1 was alright but a real chore to get through, definitely not an album that dishes out any immediate gratification

Act 1 is underdeveloped and not incredibly fleshed out story wise or music wise, but what it presents is a trite display of, in my opinion, some of TDH's most quality songs and great emotional deliveries. I think I enjoy it for its uniqueness compared to the rest of their disc. more than anything

First half of Act 2 blows just about anything out of the water tho

yeah looking at the ratings I was/am still willing to give Act 2 a go, but if Act 2 isn't better than 1 I'm never listening to this band again. just to be drastic with you =)

if you're waiting for just some full out coheed pop hooks you will be disappointed. tdh are catchy but not quite as catchy and a different kind of catchy imo
