its pretty bad. i just remember thinking it was ripping off devin townsend and opeth half the time and then the other half they were doing a shitty impression of old faceless and the whole thing is a mess

i thought the whole antireligion thing was trying too hard in comparison to something like Orbs' debut

The first three tracks and In Solitude are actually good, even though they rip off like at least 5 bands on that album. The remaining songs aren't really memorable, like at all. But I can say the same of Planetary Duality in all honesty. Akeldama is their only album that is a real blast to listen to. even though it's part deathcore.
BTW anyone notice how they rip off Torchbearer in "In Solitude"? A riff very much like the latter band's

the rip off extol too

Well there are some good bands that rip off many many other bands, like Omnium Gatherum. If I started writing songs today, I would also feel compelled to cram 20 of my favorite bands into a single song. Too bad that rarely produces good songs.

im sure you wouldnt straight up steal riffs and change their tone a bit :S

I wouldn't say they ripped off anyone. They just wore their influences on their sleeves. I mean, would you say a punk band that heavily emulates The Clash and Ramones and Black Flag is a rip off?

But their riffing patterns hugely resemble the bands they rip off. Autotheist Movement is a Opeth/SYL/Theory in Practice tribute, while In Solitude reminds me wholly of Torchbearer as I said earlier. Good songs though, but I always skip the rest when I listen to it.

@lioness yes, i would

I'm not a fan of calling bands copycats just because they're influenced (I.e this whole djent=Meshuggah nonsense) but like
Xfing said they realllly resemble some other riffs
there's a good YouTube video on it, I'm going to look for it
edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKa8QZLNpC0 < its not perfect but it does point out some of them

Had no idea about the Extol riff, one of those was ripped off so fucking blatantly it's not even funny. But the first one in that video that's supposed to be Extol's, I believe is a riff stolen from Therion. Some song on Sirius B or Lemuria must have had an almost identical riff.
