blue jeans and born to die are both really bad imo but I'm not sure if all that much separates them from video games which I like and off to the races which I really like

i think off to the races has a lot more vocal variety but even still, don't think they're too different in essence.
video games is a great song but i am sick of hearing it at this point, haha

Fuck it, this album is awesome. I think lana del rey stans in high school made me always look at her in the same vein as like, marina and the diamonds, so as to say only really surface level pop music disguised by a vintage aesthetic. But I think Lanas music is not only influenced but evolves those vintage sounds she tries to imitate. Late to the party I guess, but I think it just took a while to click. Ultraviolence and NFR are still the best but this is near the top for sure, maybe worth a 4

Lana's best album

Hot take, but I've always preferred this era of Lana to her newer work. I think her lethargic (self-proclaimed) "gangster Nancy Sinatra" aesthetic works so much better with this hip-hop/trip-hop sound than all the meandering psych-folk bullshit of her more recent stuff

as if this is 10 years old, what the fuck.
I remember stanning for video games and blue jeans back when they were just on youtube/myspace.
This aged pretty well tbh but her newer stuff is better.

Blue Jeans, Radio, Videogames and Summertime Sadness are excellent. Born to die is good. The rest range from okay to shallow and cringeworthy or deathly dull. Occasional off key singing.
Id have been very dissapointed if Id bought this at the time after the singles. I haven't listened to her other albums. This is undercooked but there is potential buried in here.

No all her albums have exactly that pattern.
