a lot of people seem to coddle underground artists even when they suck and they feel obligated to be "nicer" to them. this band blew up to 2M streams and a bunch of people hyping it here so they're able to be mask off. plus johnny's history of bagging on "more popular" artists in favor of lesser known - Nine Inch Nails for an example, this reaction seems entirely expected.

In the space of about a year they've gone from playing 500 cap venues to 2k cap venues here in the UK and any metal act that can play 2k cap venues is basically mainstream.

at this point i feel like johnny becoming staff took him from being a humble dude with a unique taste to being egotistical and pretentious about his opinions, i miss the old johnny
