It really is insane how his music is much longer but his best work manages to feel like they’re 20 minutes long compared to 50.

Yet to ever check anything by this fella. Starting at ravedeath tonight. Feeling like it’s gonna be a treat. Wish I could get stoned for it

First listen = very much whelmed. Last three tracks are the easy highlight, rest is solid Template Ambient but nearly as striking or adventurous as a top-tier Heck. Gonna have to see if it opens up

"re-listens have not come naturally, lousy with growers though Hecker’s oeuvre may be. It sounds like great music that nobody had all that much fun making."

mmmyeah mood. Sax features fall somewhat flat for me in line with this. Definitely not his worst, but the Imaginary Country thru Virgins run + Konoyo leave it for dead and I'm unsure how much I'll return compared to those

Kinda disappointed at how little the sax adds to these pieces, especially compared to the live instrumentation in Konoyo and Ravedeath

I definitely like the sax on a stetson's-doin-his-thang level but idk I really feel that Hecker could have gotten out of his way just like a LITTLE bit less. Not a lot of push/pull between the two I don't think

I can’t trust you if you don’t like a good sax feature

i like this one specifically because it’s very stripped back and minimal.
