Meteora has more nuance than Hybrid Theory.

Linkin Park were a boyband playing jumpdafuckup nu mental. Nuance is what ruined their music.

HT and Meteora have roughly the same number of duds but the HT highlights just hit wayyy harder. HT is better and it's not even close although this is their second best

Really interesting hearing this again. THE soundtrack to countless hours of playing yu gi oh, drinking pepsi blue, snorting pixi stix and jackin it to girls gone wild commercials. Few albums hold such a power. So formative, so many memories.

One of those memories is of my friend and fellow LP fan showing me how a guitar worked, what power chords were, and even teaching me to play along to a song. I never heard LP or really any music the same again. The experience didn't immediately ruin LP for me, but the fact that someone could play almost all of their stuff with maybe two weeks of practice altered my perception forever. I became a closer listener, able to appreciate instrumentation as more than a jumble of noises mashed together.

Now at age 34 I'm not too surprised that I can't find joy in it, but it truly warms my heart that these tunes are still out there introducing new generations of 6th graders to the world of harsher vocals.

Ehh, I prefer this album over Hybrid Theory simply because of Numb… That is my life lol.

I really don't give a damn about technicality or lack thereof. I feel the music, it evokes emotions in me, I have fun listening to every song on the album and that's what it's all about and always has been.

Favorite track: Somewhere I Belong

It is out there!

Having fun and getting some folks to chuckle was the plan. A successful plan, indeed.
