Agree this isn’t as good as House of Sugar
Probably will bump to a 4 at some stage, well hopefully
Best song is the last song? In fact a good argument the best two are the last two.
Kind of wish this was a double so it competed with the Big Thief, some similarities in feel.

I don’t like Cross the Sea all that much so maybe explains why I have no problem Blessing following it

After four listens I'm feeling ranked/rated:
1. Forgive [5]
2. Miracle [4.5]
3. Ain't it Easy [4.5]
4. Runner [4]
5. S.D.O.S [4] (sort of fades out uneventfully but some of this track is brilliant)
6. Blessing [4]
7. Headroom Piano [4] (I dig it, maybe a bit slight)
8. Mission [3.5]
9. No Bitterness [3.5] (eeeee, I want to like this more but...something missing)
10. After All [3.5] (eeeeee, I want to like this more...see above)
11. Early Morning Waiting [3.5] (instrumentation and arrangement decent, still a bit...bland(ish)
12. Cross the Sea [3] (just sort of there for me so far)
13. Immunity [3] (not sure)

Nice, in terms of the feel of the whole album 'Cross the Sea' certainly doesn't feel out of place, no problem it being there - just not a highlight so far for me

Good ranking, mostly agree. Immunity loses lots of points with that awful finale, but even the good moments aren't really that good. Mission is the best song here, tho

Switch your first and last place Doof, and my ranking is pretty much the same lol.
For real though, I absolutely adore Immunity and the ending is definitely one of those good ol' alex g moments that people will either love or despise.

'Mission is the best song here, tho'
I could definitely see that one joining my top 6 potentially, early days, the instrumental coda is cute
'Switch your first and last place Doof, and my ranking is pretty much the same lol.'
'Immunity' is a song that desperately needed a switch up at the end but I'm with rabidfish, it sounds a bit 'off'

Second listen down and a lot of this is just downright magical, he really operates in that perfect sweet spot of various indie folk/rock/pop styles with a bit of Americana/country and more unique production thrown in that is just absurdly to my taste.

sdos above after all is a massive fail, doof. forgive and miracle as top 2 is good tho i can maybe agree with that. don't rly get all the love for ain't it easy, that's on the lower end for me. same with headroom piano, that does nothing for me tbh. sdos is dead last tho
