Fuck that, the AN tracks were sick on this. Had JR from Pig Destroyer on them before his voice gave out. Kinda like a Pig Destroyer/Converge split and that's a great thing. I appreciate some new life being breathed into these tracks though, even if I thought the songs stood tall before. I don't think it's BETTER per say, just different.

I’ll listen to them again but I don’t remember those tracks being anywhere near as good as prime Pig Destroyer.

AN rules yes but sput is generally not super grind or even really hardcore friendly if you don’t sound like vein or Jesus piece

Converge have always had lots of appreciation for their oldies. Like playing tracks off of WFCC live in the 2010s. Love that about them. Also, I wouldn’t say these AN tracks are as good as prime PD, only that they’re sick. Just like these Verge songs kinda pale in comparison to a lot of what would come later but are still awesome.

I was never a fan of AN so I don't mind only this half of the split getting the remaster treatment

@botb: I slick feel like Jesus Piece is overrated. They just be playing a bunch of mosh riffs. New Vein record wasn’t as good as Errorzone.

New vein is still a bop tho, even if the production is a bit eh

I mean I'm not the biggest AN fan but let's not pretend this is some of Converge's greatest hits either

They Stretch For Miles is one of their best songs and I’ll die on that hill

Also, side tangent here, but I was describing Vein's new LP the other day to a buddy of mine who's definitely a 00s old-guard hardcore guy. he rolled his eyes pretty heavily at the sound of it. made me chuckle.
